Our exclusive SOAR Guide training will elevate your mountain craft skills and leadership abilities.
- Get Certified: Earn your Hong Kong, China Mountaineering and Climbing Union (HKCMCU) Level One Mountain Craft Training Certificate.
- Develop Leadership Skills: Build your emotional intelligence, communication, and problem-solving skills to inspire and influence others in dynamic environments.
- Gain Practical Experience: Engage with and support HKUST students in at least 4 outdoor sessions.
- Self-led Outdoor Expedition: Showcase what you’ve learned on a self-led challenge with your fellow Guides!

Remarks:
1. Applicants will be invited to a group selection on 23 Aug (Sat) or 30 Aug (Sat). Students who cannot attend the in-person selection with valid reasons can request an online session in advance.
2. You should not miss more than 1 session to complete the program. The program costs over $3,200 per student and is fully subsidized by the Dean of Students' Office (DSTO), BUT everything is FREE if you participate in full. If you cannot complete the program due to legitimate reasons supported by proof (illness or an exam conflict), DSTO reserves the right to charge you HK$1,200.
3. A certificate will be issued to recognize your contribution to the HKUST SOAR Community upon the full completion of the program.
